Hackers from North Korea have been found setting up fake businesses in the United States, exposing clients to their websites and infecting their computers with crypto stealing malware. These bogus companies were registered under business names, even having rented properties associated with their registration. Three businesses have been identified, including Blocknovas, Softglide, and Angeloper Agency. According to Zycrypto, this sophisticated attack combined social engineering elements to lure potential targets into spreading crypto stealing malware. Angeloper Agency is the only business not registered as a legal entity. The other two firms, Blocknovas and Softglide, are registered as legal entities. The FBI seized the Blocknovas website and stated that North Korean hackers created the site, using fake job postings to distribute malware. The shell companies, Blocknovas, Angeloper, and Softglide, spread malware through fake job interviews. A wide network of job postings was used to entice people to click on the website. Both Blocknovas and Softglide were listed as official companies, making it easier for fake recruiters to post job listings on third-party websites.
