A meeting was held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta by several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet to address the issues faced by PT Sritex employees who had been laid off. The main purpose of the meeting was to find solutions for the affected workers following a directive from Prabowo. In attendance were Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and PT Sritex Curator Nurma Sadikin.

During the meeting, Prasetyo emphasized the president’s concern for the workers and stressed the importance of resolving the problems that arose after PT Sritex declared bankruptcy in October 2024. The objective is to rehire approximately 8,000 employees in the textile sector with a new working arrangement. Minister Yassierli praised the efforts of the curator in ensuring that former Sritex employees could potentially be rehired within the next two weeks.

Prabowo’s commitment to offering support and guidance is expected to bring relief to the impacted PT Sritex employees. The Ministry of Manpower is actively working to protect the rights of PT Sritex Group workers, ensuring they receive proper layoff compensation and other entitlements. Meanwhile, the PT Sritex Curator Team is in the process of selecting investors to manage Sritex’s assets under a new scheme, which will ultimately lead to the reemployment of the laid-off workers. This strategic step aims to bring stability to the affected employees and provide a resolution to their current circumstances.
