Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) night. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who had exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election.
“We would like to express our thanks and highest appreciation to those who have used their right to vote in the 2024 election,” he said during a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic party ran smoothly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we felt the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Indonesian Forward Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a big appreciation to the TNI-Polri for making the 2024 election very orderly, safe, and peaceful,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Indonesian Forward Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairpersons and all members of political parties within it. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.
“We express our thanks and appreciation to all chairpersons and members of all parties in KIM, as well as TKN, volunteers, and mothers present here (at the residence of Kertanegara IV),” said Prabowo.
Prabowo invited all Indonesian people to unite to bring the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.
“We invite all Indonesian people to look forward together, to unite, to hold hands. We must be harmonious and work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, we must respect all the choices of the people,” he continued.
Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran will work as hard as possible for all the Indonesian people as president and vice president. Prabowo said that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the mandate of the people is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all the Indonesian people. For those who did not choose us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all the Indonesian people,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
