Jakarta – Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, said that in principle, the victory achieved should not hurt others.
This was conveyed by Prabowo when he became a guest star on Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast which aired on the YouTube channel @Deddy Corbuzier, on Tuesday (13/2).
Prabowo then quoted one of Javanese philosophy, which is ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. It means, ‘Winning without belittling’.
He expressed this because he believed that many people do not care about others in order to achieve victory/success.
“Sometimes, Western philosophy is somewhat different. Because from what I see, Western philosophy emphasizes on success. It doesn’t matter how you win, as long as you win,” said Prabowo.
“In order to achieve victory for ourselves, our side, our selves, our family, (sometimes) we hurt many people. There is Javanese philosophy, ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. ‘Winning without belittling (hurting)’. That’s what we must hold on to,” he stressed.
Prabowo added that with this principle, we will live without resentment towards others. Life, he said, must have principles as embraced by the warriors and knights. They live by holding firm to the values of honesty, justice, and commitment to help the weak and oppressed.
“If in the philosophy of the warriors, my teachers taught (me) not to have grudges. A warrior is brave. Brave to defend the truth, justice, honesty,” he said.
“Defending the weak, poor, and oppressed. That is a knight. Defending must be brave, but cannot be hateful and vengeful,” concluded Prabowo. (SENOPATI)
